How An ERP System is Used To Manage Business Functions Ft. Joe Keller

The Importance of Building Community Around Ideal Customers

As a business owner, it can be challenging to find new customers and build relationships with potential clients outside of your market. However, it’s essential to do so in order to reach your goals and expand your business.

One way to build a community around your ideal customers is to create a tour, similar to a band’s tour schedule. Identify the major markets between your two facilities and put together a schedule of events that will bring you to each city every other day or every day.

Hosting Networking Mixers to Build Community

During each event, host a networking mixer, lunch and learn session, or evening cocktails and drinks event. The goal is to build a community among your ideal customers and create a space where they can connect with each other and with your business.

At each event, deliver value by showing your potential customers how your business can help them make more money and transform their relationship with your company. Provide them with an offer such as a discount on their first project or help with their bid or design process.

Delivering Value and Offering Partnerships

By approaching these events with a partnership mindset, you can build trust with potential customers and establish yourself as a reliable and valuable business partner. Even if you only gain one client in each city, the repeat work that comes from that relationship can be worth a significant amount of money.

Set a budget for your tour, perhaps around $5-10,000, and prioritize cities with a sizable commercial industry base demographic. By creating a tour that delivers value and builds community, you can expand your business and reach new heights.
