How To Maintain A Social Media Presence Ft. Kris Reynolds

In today’s digital age, having a strong social media presence is essential for businesses to reach their target audience and promote their brand. However, not everyone is naturally inclined to maintain an active presence on social media, and it can be especially challenging for those who didn’t grow up with it. This is the case for many business owners who are in their 40s and beyond.

One such business owner is a custom cabinet maker named Kris, who recently spoke with Steve, a business coach and podcast host, about his struggles with maintaining a social media presence for his business, Reynolds Custom Woodworks.

The struggle with maintaining a social media presence

Kris explained that he feels like he doesn’t have the time to create regular social media content, and he also doesn’t want to hire someone else to do it for him since it’s his name on the line. Steve offered some helpful advice, suggesting that Kris start small by posting one to two things on stories every day. This can include a photo or a short video, and it doesn’t need to be anything elaborate or time-consuming.

Steve also encouraged Kris to use his personal Facebook page to share his content initially and not worry about Instagram just yet. By starting with something simple, like taking a screenshot and posting it on Facebook, Kris can build up his confidence and natural ability to converse and share his thoughts.

Steve recognized that Kris is passionate about his work and takes pride in what he does, but he needs to flex a little more and showcase his skills and experience to a wider audience. By taking a video of his team and sharing it on social media, Kris can give his business more visibility and make his team feel seen and appreciated.

Ultimately, building a strong social media presence takes time and effort, but by starting small and being consistent, even those who are not naturally inclined to use social media can develop the skills needed to promote their business effectively.
